Doom Death Metal

Music became a mix of Doom Metal and Death Metal style. In Doom Death Metal genre we can see fast guitar dispersal and a slower pace, brutal roar and at the same time gloominess of the vocal. This sub genre is considered the most accepted in all of the genres of Doom around musicians as well as amongst listeners. Song verses in the sub genre same as with original Doom Metal evolve around portrayal of depression, loneliness , pain and despair.

The musical genre Doom Death Metal was forming between 80s and 90s. While this extreme genre was growing many bands decided to expand music of one genre, by adding elements of another. That is how original Doom was mixed with elements of Death Metal, which brought to the music more brutal vocals (growling) as well as the heavier sounding guitars. One of the pioneers of this genre we are considering bands such as My Dying Bride, Winter, Paradise Lost, Anathema. But most influential for the genre became bands Disembowelment and Dusk, they combined Death and Doom in their music and made it difficult to point out which genre is prevailing in the composition.

By the end of the 90s wide variety of bands playing in this genre was formed. We can point out to the Mourning Beloveth, Disembowelment, heParamaecium, Swallow The Sun, diSEMBOWELMENT , Draconian, Saturnus, as well as earlier compositions of Tiamat, Katatonia and Lake Of Tears.

Doom Death Metal is very diverse, that is why musicians performing in the genre can sound absolutely different depending on their own stylistic experimentations. Each band tries to make their composition sound unique, using vast variety techniques. They can invoke harshness as well as melody, brutality as well as tediousness. All of these tricks gives to the genre its originality and beauty.
